Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and a writer, who has won numerous prizes. Her films comprise Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) as well as The Getaway ( 1972). Growing up in a family of artists in New York she wished to work in the field of arts. Her first job was as a photo assistant. Then she moved on to modelling and acting. She received the Golden Globe Award, for most promising newcomer. MacGraw's movie Love Story proved a major success and earned her international recognition as well as the Academy Award' nomination and the Golden Globe award. Within three years, she had been voted as the most popular female box-office starter in the whole world. At Grauman's Chinese Theater, in 1972, she had her handprints and signature engraved. Also, she appeared in The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, as well as other movies. Moving Pictures is her autobiography released in 1991. MacGraw has been married three times.
