Coleman was born and raised in the town of the town of Blackpool in Lancashire. She was the head girl at Arnold School, Blackpool and received straight A's in her A level. Steven Moffat of Doctor Who announced in a news conference held on the 21st March 2012 that Coleman was to replace Karen Gillan after she and Arthur Darvill had left. Moffat claimed that he selected Coleman to be the companion due to her ability to work best with Smith. In addition, Moffat noted that she talked faster than Smith. She was more popular on television. Eva is most well-known for her roles as the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children as well as detective Natalia Boa Vistas from CSI Miami. This particular show brought her two nominations for the 'Daytime Emmy. Also, she got to show off her artistic side via music. Eva is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist and the philanthropist. She was married three times and is the mother of a child from her first husband.
